this is the latest version of security update, the
"October 2003, Cumulative Patch" update which resolves
all known security vulnerabilities affecting
MS Internet Explorer, MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express
as well as three new vulnerabilities.
Install now to help protect your computer
from these vulnerabilities, the most serious of which could
allow an attacker to run executable on your system.

System requirements: Windows 95/98/Me/2000/NT/XP
This update applies to:
- MS Internet Explorer, version 4.01 and later
- MS Outlook, version 8.00 and later
- MS Outlook Express, version 4.01 and later

Recommendation: Customers should install the patch at the earliest opportunity.
How to install: Run attached file. Choose Yes on displayed dialog box.
How to use: You don't need to do anything after installing this item.

I would need a direct link to this patch on an MS site. I am not going to
run a patch found in a newsgroup.

*Please* do not use a tinyurl to conceal the target address of

That's ridiculous. You obviously don't understand how links and browsers
work. If the link posted takes you somewhere or tries to download
something different than what it was said to be, then you abort your
browser.

You get the 'really stupid' award for the day. :)

Thank you for the award ;-)

Sigh. Do you know that everybody in the world has disabled popunders,
for example?
Right now, there are a lot of trojans and viruses around. A bit of healthy
paranoia would not be amiss.
